Jinjiang, China, May 31, 2018 – Lithuania’s Robert Juchnevic/Artur Vasiljev, Japan’s Yoshiumi Hasegawa/Keisuke Shimizu and Austria’s Felix Friedl/Maximillian Trummer recorded easy victories on Thursday in the qualification round of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Jinjiang 2-star at the beach courts of the Yakou Tourist Area.
All 10 pairs entered in the first qualification round passed through with a bye that gave Germany’s Armin Dollinger/Simon Kulzer and Russia’s Petr Bakhnar/Yury Bogatov another free pass to the main draw.
In the second round matchups, Vasiljev/Juchnevic, Hasegawa/Shimizu, Friedl Fe./Trummer and Israel’s Shani Cohen/Netanel Ohana succeeded in securing the remaining spots in the main draw.
Vasiljevic/Juchnevic defeated Japanese tandem Yu Koshikawa/Koichi Nishimura 2-0 (21-17, 21-12), but Hasegawa/Shimizu avenged their compatriots’ loss as they beat Chinese duo Linghang Jiang/Xu Yuan 2-0 (21-13, 21-15).

Friedl Fe./Trummer showed a strong performance and limited their Chinese adversaries JunKai Chang/Xinyu Luo to score only 22 markers in their 2-0 (21-8, 21-14) win.
Ohana/Cohen, however, experienced a rough patch in the first set before they regained their focus and claimed the victory over Sweden’s Sebastian Akesson-Holm/Alexander Annerstedt 2-1 (17-21, 21-14, 15-11).
