Colorado Springs, USA, October 10, 2018 - Three-time Olympic gold medallist and three-time world champion Kerri Walsh Jennings has teamed up with Brooke Sweat in pursuit of qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
“Brooke really sits in the same vein as Misty,” Walsh Jennings told NBC OlympicTalk. “Brooke is her own athlete and has her own assets and strengths, but largely what Misty and Brooke share in common is their inherent knowledge in the game and the fact it’s in her blood. You can just tell she gets it.”
The pair will make its debut at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 4-star event in Las Vegas, United States from October 17 to 21. Walsh Jennings plays at the event in Yangzhou, China this week with Kelly Claes.
Sweat played at the Fort Lauderdale Major earlier this year with Summer Ross and at the Huntington Beach World Tour event in May with Lauren Fendrick, before having surgery on her right shoulder.
