The pair qualified for the 2017 FIVB World Championships via the South American continental qualifying rounds. Agudo and Brito has two seconds and a fourth in three South American tour events in 2017 after capturing two titles in 2016 during Olympic qualification. While Brito will be competing in her first world championships, Agudo teamed with Olaya Pazo to place 17th in the 2015 event in The Netherlands. Agudo and Pazo also qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and placed 17th by winning one of four matches. After starting her FIVB career in 2010 playing in the youth world championships, Agudo started playing full-time on the World Tour in 2014 with a career-best finish of fifth with Pazo. Brito also played in FIVB youth worlds twice before starting World Tour in 2014 with 17ths as her best placements.
