Tuan Chau Island, Vietnam, November 1, 2018 - The second edition of the Tuan Chau Halong Open is set for May 9-12 as the island community located off the northeastern coast of Vietnam hosts the 20th event on the 2018-2019 FIVB World Tour situated within the Asian Volleyball Confederation.
A women's-only event for the second-straight season, the host country will be looking for a team to break into the final four after the pair of Nguyen Mai/Tram Nguyen placed fifth in the 2018 Tuan Chau Halong Open in both players' first-ever FIVB World Tour event.
Japan swept the podium at the 2018 Tuan Chau Halong Open with a 1-2-3 finish by Suzuka Hashimoto/Sayaka Mizoe, Minori Kumada/Yui Nagata and Kaho Sakaguchi/Yukako Suzuki. The 2018 final four finish by Israel's Noy Chorin/Sofia Starikov was the country's first appearance by a men's or women's placement in an FIVB World Tour semifinal. Two months later in Daegu, Korea, Chorin placed fourth with Anita Deev.
