Germans defeat the Dutch

Chantal Laboureur, Germany - Every win is very important because here every point counts and this one was a big point now so we’re happy we made it. The first set was very strange at the end with the challenge for us and then we scored two points and it was like ‘Whoa, OK.’ Small things make the difference in the end and this was an example. It was maybe better not to play yesterday because we came from Moscow, we played until Sunday there so we had one more day to recover. This is normal playing rhythm, two games is not difficult today so it’s OK. We kept our – I don’t know if it was focus our attention – but we didn’t have these downs so much. Juli played really good sideout so it made it fun for me also. Of course, we feel the pressure coming from outside, but we try not to bring it too much to ourselves. We make pressure already on ourselves, so we try to keep the pressure from the outside away from us as much as possible.

Sanne Keizer, Netherlands - “I’m very sad and disappointed in this game because we had leads at some points in the first set and second set, but we didn’t use them. We didn’t do our job.”
