Dutch edge Spaniards for first WTF win

Alexander Brouwer / Robert Meeuwsen Netherlands (3) def. Adrian Gavira / Pablo Herrera Spain (6) 22-20, 23-21 (0:36)

Alexander Brouwer, the Netherlands - "We started the game really badly , but we kept fighting and came back in the end of the first set. In the second, we played a little better, but the Spanish are tough and they almost beat us. In the end, I'm really happy we won. Being here is very special for us, but we have work to do because we want to make of it the cherry on top of our cake."

Robert Meeuwsen, the Netherlands - "We had a couple of hours to be disappointed about our setback in the morning and then we started preparing for this game. It's a fun tournament, we'll not have any matches here and we need to be sharp all the time. Our second game was better than the second and hopefully we can keep improving."

Adrian Gavira, Spain - "I think we lost the match because of our reception. I was really uncomfortable with the lights as it was our first night game in the season. I think overall we played well and had chances to win the game, but unfortunately we didn't. Tomorrow we have two tough matches and we need to win both. It won't be easy, but we'll fight."
