Bryl & Fijalek secure bracket berth for Poland

Grzegorz Fijalek, Poland - “I’m very happy we won against a tough Latvia team. We played very tactically, we played very well on the sideout and we had a hard service. We don’t know who our opponent is, we don’t care about it, we try to concentrate on our side. We never watch this kind of (points) situation. We try to focus on our side, play well, forget about our opponents. It doesn’t matter which opponent is on the other side. We are very happy. For Mikal it is a great job with success. He’s young and he works us. For us as a team it is a great tournament and I hope we get to Saturday. We’ve played for two years so we are still a young team. After a good result here we try to focus on our side because it’s more important for us. The pressure is very high for us, especially for Mikal, he is very young, but we don’t care about the pressure. We love it, it’s our job, we can do what we like. For us it’s the best life we can imagine.”

Martins Plavins, Latvia - “If we would there would have been no waiting. We played bad, this wasn’t our day, that’s why we lost. Poland very well with a good serve so we couldn’t do anything. We should have had better defense and block because our serve is not our strong side. But we didn’t play well. We hope that the Norway Vikings are still on the track. I cannot say that (our tournament) is good or bad because when I saw the pool, I knew it would be a very important match with Poland. I’m happy there’s a chance we can play in the quarterfinals, so I cannot say if it’s good or bad. When the tournament is finished, then I can tell you.”
