Agatha & Duda advance to second WTF gold medal match

Agatha Bednarczuk, Brazil - “This is the last tournament on the FIVB World Tour of the season, so we are very happy for staying to the last day, for staying to the final of the last tournament. We’re working so hard to stay here and we had tough games to arrive to this final, so I think we deserve this. But we have a big, hard job in the game against the Czechs. Yesterday it was 2-1, they played already, they have more minutes to rest so we have to be fast to come back, change our key, change our mind to play against them. It’s always hard (against Carol and Maria Antonelli), we know them, they know us, the first set was crazy. High level, we did some things wrong in the first set, we had some mistakes in our service, we did not receive every team. The second set was better for us.”

Duda Lisboa, Brazil - “I’m very happy that we are in the final here in Hamburg again. It was a great match, both teams played well and I’m glad we came out on top. Being in the finals here was obviously everyone’s goal and after working so hard for it, we just want to have fun and keep playing well. We played the Czechs yesterday and it was a very close game, a 2-1 victory for us, so we expect the same.”

Carolina Salgado, Brazil - “They played better than us and that’s why they won. Now we have to forget this game as quickly as possible and try to do our best to get the bronze here, which would be very important for us.”

Maria Antonelli, Brazil - “Both teams know each other very well and that’s why the first set was very close. In the end, they were better and deserved it. We need to put this result behind us, focus on the Australians and keep going.”
