Samsun, Turkey, July 26, 2018 – Teams from Poland and Italy won their qualification matches on Thursday to advance to the women’s main draw at the Samsun one-star stop on the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour.
Pairs from the Czech Republic and South Africa also qualified, but without playing. They received byes in the qualification bracket to set foot in Friday’s main draw action.
Italy’s Carolina Ferraris and Francesca Michieletto mastered a 2-0 (21-12, 21-17) victory over Japan’s Hiroko Matsuyama and Marie Wada.

Poland’s Marta Lodej and Marta Duda followed suit with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-14) win over Romania’s Elena-Andreea Petrosanu and Andreea Iustina Corcoz.
The two highest seeded duos in the qualification bracket, Czechia’s Nicole Dostalova and Anna Komarkova and South Africa’s Simone Sittig and Luciana Pierangeli, received byes to progress to the main draw so did not play any qualification matches.
