QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT (if any)

1 day single elimination with a minimum of 8 teams and a maximum of 16 teams for any vacancy(ies) in the Main Draw due to unused quota of the Continental Confederations

 

MAIN DRAW

Preliminary phase

2 days - 8 groups of 4 teams, each playing round robin with 32 teams – 2 top ranked teams of each group will qualify for the final phase, plus the best 8 teams ranked third

Final phase

2 days - single elimination with 24 qualified teams, including the bronze and gold medal matches
