The World Tour returns to the United States after hosting events in Fort Lauderdale and Huntington Beach earlier this year. Earlier visits to the country also include stops in Acapulco and Rosarito.

The FIVB New Events Business Department continues to work with promoters to organise additional events in the period from January to August 2019 and to provide players with new opportunities to compete. The full calendar of events for 2018-2019 will be announced at the next World Tour Council on September 18. An additional European event (November 30 to December 2) may also be added to the calendar at a later date. The new stop in Chetumal, Mexico in October is also set to become a double gender event in 2019-2020.
