Germans deny Canadians perfect pool mark

Julia Sude, Germany - “We felt very comfortable playing in the Center Court with our home crowd. We did great teamwork, always supporting one another, and we knew they would be very tough opponents. We had the right strategy, we were strong on sideout and we were aggressive in our serving, which that led us to score some easy points

Chantal Laboureur, Germany - “We knew that in this tournament anyone could beat anyone. We knew we could beat them, but at the same time we needed to be really careful because they are really strong. We’re very excited and we’ll put everything in the last game and hopefully we can top our pool.”

Heather Bansley, Canada - “We weren’t siding out very efficiently, there were a lot of mistakes on our and that’s what cost us. They played much stronger defense than the USA this morning and gave us trouble with our sideout. We just didn’t play as well as we did this morning. ”

Brandie Wilkerson, Canada - “It’s not a comfortable place to be because ideally we want to win (the pool) undisputed and we’ll have to see what happens and we’re ready for anything either way. If we must play, we’ll find the good in that. It’s just playing sharper. It’s the end of the season so nothing crazy (in adjustments). We’ve just got to be at our highest level all the time. That’s what it’s going to take to win a game at this tournament.”
