Sanne Keizer of the Netherlands will mark her return with new partner Madelein Meppelink, while Annemieke Driessen/Ilke Meertens and Marleen van Iersel/Joy Stubbe have all signed up for the women’s tournament.
Last June, the 3-star DELA Beach Open World Tour event in The Hague was the first international sporting event at the state-of-the-art Sportcampus Zuiderpark, where Russia’s Nikita Liamin and Viacheslav Krasilnikov captured the men’s top podium spot against Spain’s Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira 2-0 (23-21, 22-20). Brazilians Carolina Salgado and Maria Antonelli claimed the women’s gold against Swiss pair Anouk Verge-Depre/Joana Heidrich 2-0 (21-17, 21-11).
The success of the first edition demanded an upgrade to a 4-star event, which is set to feature the participation of the world’s top players including strong contingents from Brazil and USA, and the likes of Sydney gold medallists Ben Saxton/Grant O'Gorman from Canada.
Sports and entertainment will come together as DJs, dance, light shows and public activities highlight the festivities of the World Tour. The event will also feature a Kids' Zone, where children can have fun all day with sports activities and games.
