Manila, Philippines, May 5, 2018 – Germany’s Max-Jonas Karpa/Milan Sievers completed the all-European semifinals cast of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Manila Open on Saturday night at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
Karpa/Sievers knocked out Australia’s Tim Dickson/Marcus Ferguson, the remaining non-European pair in the quarterfinal draw in a 2-0 (21-12, 21-18) encounter.
Joining them in the semifinal draw are Russia’s Petr Bakhnar/Taras Myskiv, Spain’s Alejandro Huerta/Javier Huerta and Switzerland’s Gabriel Kissling/Michiel Zandbergen.

Bakhnar/Myskiv rallied from a set down to win 2-0 (18-21, 21-14, 15-12) against the second-seeded Austrian pair Daniel Mullner/Florian Schnetzer, keeping their hopes alive for another World Tour podium finish.
Huerta A./Huerta played clutch and beat Switzerland’s Simon Hagenbuch/Quentin Metral 2-0 (21-17, 24-22), while Kissling G./Zandbergen avenged their compatriots’ loss by defeating Austria’s Felix Friedl/Maximillian Trummer 2-0 (21-18, 21-9).
