Langkawi welcomes return of World Tour

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 25, 2018 – The Malaysian island of Langkawi is set to welcome the return of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour in 2018 following last year’s successful staging of the 1-star Langkawi Open.

This year’s edition is scheduled to take place from April 26 to 29 at the world-class beach of Pantai Cenang, with another exciting double gender event over the course of four days.

Indonesia’s Ade Rachmawan and Mohammad Ashfiya top the Langkawi main draw entry list in the men’s tournament, while Paraguay’s Michelle Sharon Valiente Amarilla and Erika Sofia Mongelos Bobadilla lead the women’s main draw competitors.

The nations represented in the men’s competition include Austria, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand and hosts Malaysia.

Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Paraguay, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Chinese Taipei and Thailand will join the hosts in the women’s category.
