World Tour returns to Nantong for second consecutive year

 
Nantong, China, June 6, 2018 – The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour returns to the city of Nantong for the women’s Silk Road Nantong Open, which will take place at the Nantong Adventure Land from June 7 to 10.

The teams in the main draw are led by Wang Xinxin/Xia Xinyi, who are looking for an upgrade to the two silver medals they won at the Lucerne 3-star and Sydney 2-star events.

Brazil’s Josemari Alves/Liliane Maestrini, Russia’s Ksenia Dabizha/Daria Mastikova, Australia’s Jessyka Ngauamo/Phoebe Bell and Norway’s Victoria Faye Kjolberg/Ane Guro Tveit Hjortland complete the top five seeded pairs in the tournament.



China are hosting three weeks of beach volleyball action in the cities of Jinjiang, Nantong and Nanjing. Last week, USA’s Trevor Crabb/John Mayer won the men’s tournament, while Japan’s Sayaka/Mizoe ruled the women’s tournament at the Jinjiang 2-star.

Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Thailand, United States and hosts China are competing this week for the Nantong 2-star tournament.

Last year, Wen Shuhui/Xia Xinyi defeated Wang Xinxin/Xue Chen 2-0 (21-18, 21-14) in the all-Chinese finale of the first edition of the Nantong 2-star.
