The Hague to welcome first World Tour event in 2018

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 13, 2017 - The fourth stop on this season's FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will be at the Dela Beach Open in The Hague, Netherlands from January 3 to 7, 2018.

Coming after a single gender men's event in Montpellier, France in September and double gender events in Qinzhou (China), Aalsmeer (Netherlands) and Sydney (Australia) in October and November, the four-star men's and women's competition in The Hague will be the first World Tour event to take place in 2018.

The top beach volleyball teams in the world will return to the Dutch city soon after the 3-star Dela Beach Open held in The Hague in June 2017, when Brazilians Maria Antonelli/Carolina Salgado won the women's competition and Russians Nikita Liamin and Viacheslav Krasilnikov won gold in the men's.

The Hague has hosted a total of seven double-gender events since 2009. In 2015, it was one of four Dutch cities alongside Amsterdam, Apeldoorn and Rotterdam to host the 10th edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships.
